This lens has a focal length of approximately 300mm. The aperture is approximately f7.5. The lens features a waterhouse slot but does not include any waterhouse stops. The lens shows some areas of light pitting on the front glass, and small areas of shallow scratches on the rear glass. There is some edge discoloration on the front group, but overall the glass is in decent condition for an old lens. This lens does not include a flange.
This lens has the markings “No. 12 Ajax” on the side, and “B B & Co Philadelphia” below it. There is excellent patina on the brass. The manufacturer is a unknown. The design is likely rapid rectilinear. It illuminates an area sufficient for 8×10. Use it for 8×10 or 5×7 work.
